Trump’s July 4 Event creates controversies

Donald Trump has made it clear to all that he will make July 4 a great grand celebration of Independence Day. July 4 is considered as a nonpartisan occasion, but this year, Trump has decided to have a rally and tanks and fighter jets to be a part of the celebration.  On this day, the US will also witness the biggest firework so far on 4th July.

For President Donald Trump’s new “Salute to America” event, the regular firework launch point has been shifted to  Lincoln Memorial from where he will address the people. Earlier, Trump tweeted that military leaders are “thrilled” as he’s honoring U.S. forces.

All the decisions taken by Trump for the celebration of July 4 and making it a grand event like never before has created a controversy. Many leaders from opposition believe that this entire ‘Salute to America’ event is actually organized to Salute to Donal Trump. A few retired generals spoke to media groups that entire occasion in being politicized by the President.

Democrats in Congress are also concerned about the money of taxpayers that are being used in Trump’s July 4 extravaganza. According to the Washington Post, the National Park Service diverted nearly $2.5 million to cover costs for this event, citing 2 people familiar with the matter. Van Hollen- and other Democratic appropriators on Capitol Hill have raised their concern about the expenditure for the day.  Still, the total cost of the July 4 event is not shared with them. New Mexico Sen said, “We haven’t heard anything,”.  The experts view on all the arrangements for July 4 is like “It won’t be cheap”.

On July 4, the celebration will include F-35s and F-18s. Trump also confirmed the presence of Tank in the celebration, according to him, “there would be the brand new Sherman tanks and we have the brand new Abram tanks.” He further added, “We’re gonna have a great Fourth of July in Washington, D.C. It’ll be like no other, it’ll be special and I hope a lot of people come and it’s going to be about this country and it’s a salute to America.”
