ETIAS  – A Few FAQs You Need Answers for

It is a matter of just two more years, and the Brexit will be into force along with ETIAS. If you haven’t heard of ETIAS or looking to understand a bit about it, here are a few answers to the questions that may be lingering into your mind.

What is ETIAS?

ETIAS or European Travel Information System is a visa waiver system designed by the EU as a means of the pre-travel authorization. It is a complete online and electronic system where you would need to opt for the citizens residing in the visa-free areas for visiting the countries in the Schengen Zone.

Who needs to apply for ETIAS?

ETIAS Visa will be applicable to the areas that have been designated to travel to the European countries. There are 62 countries that have been allowed to travel visa-free in Europe. By the time the ETIAS comes into force in 2021, more countries may be added to the list.

How does it work?

The ETIAS system is designed to be a time saver when it comes to functionality. Apply for the ETIAS through the online process. It should take a mere 10 to 20 minutes to complete the application process. You will need to fill out your personal details and answer a few questions. The questions need to be answered honestly enough and within the stipulated time.

How much does it cost?

ETIAS does not cost you much. You will need to pay just seven euros for the application to ETIAS. The ETIAS is to be applied for the minors as well, but there will not be any fees for those below the age of 18.

How many times can you enter the EU?

You can enter the EU region as many times as you would want to as long as the ETIAS authorization is valid. However, each of your visits should not last longer than 90 days. You should not take up any job or undertake a study under ETIAS. The authorization will be valid only for business and tourism-related affairs.

That was all we have concerning the ETIAS regime. Let us know what more would you want to know about it?
